I walked up to my friend's porch, expecting to watch TV and do nothing for the evening; instead, he greeted me at the door with his coat and his keys. "We have to go meet my friend," he said, really casually. "She just got out of jail and I promised her I would meet her for a drink to celebrate. We'll only be there for 20 minutes."
Somwhat taken aback, I said, "Repeat what you just said, and after you hear yourself say it again, tell me what you think is wrong with that statement."
He paused, thought things over, and then--with a completely serious look on his face--said "Okay, we probably won't get out of there for about 45 minutes. Sorry."
It's all about perspective, people.
